Singer-songwriter, producer en multi-instrumentalist Joe Goddard van Hot Chip kondigde pas zijn derde elpee aan. ‘Harmonics’ komt deze zomer uit op 12 juli. De mans disco en house zullen uiteraard weer doorheen het album stralen, hoewel hij aangeeft dat er ook UK garage- en hiphopinvloeden te horen zullen zijn. Voor het album werkte hij samen met onder andere Alabaster DePlume, Tom McFarland (Jungle), Hayden Thorpe (voormalig frontman van Wild Beasts), Eno Williams (Ibibio Sound Machine). Ook ging hij aankloppen bij zijn bandmakkers van Hot Chip. Alexis Taylor en Al Doyle droegen bij aan ‘Heal your mind’. Over het album vertelt hij: “Part of the reason why I wanted to call this Harmonics is that I was trying to create something very inclusive and empathetic, something harmonious,” “There’s a lot of aggressive division in the world, and I wanted this to be loving, romantic – and fun.“, geeft hij aan.
Bij de aankondiging hoort uiteraard een eerste single. Hij trapt zijn album roll-out af met ‘Moments die’. “My new single ‘Moments die’ features a beautiful vocal contribution from my friend Barrie which for me is a highlight of my forthcoming album. My words were inspired by John Berger’s book ‘And Our Faces, My Heart, Brief as Photos’.“, vertelt hij in een statement. Check hieronder de clip voor de single.
