Tom Skinner, voormalig drummer bij Sons Of Kemet, heeft zopas een nieuw album bekend gemaakt. De drummer van The Smile brengt op 26 september ‘Kaleidoscopic visions’ uit via Brownswood en International Anthem.
“‘Kaleidoscopic Visions’ was the first piece I wrote for the album,” vertelt Skinner over de nieuwe single die gepaard gaat met de aankondiging. “Based around an intuitive piano improvisation, it set the tone for my approach and the sound I wanted to achieve in the creative process. Showcasing the conversational and collaborative dynamic of the music and my band, it foregrounds a moody, cinematic flow within a hazy, psychedelic backdrop.”
Skinner schreef de plaat samen met basist Tom Herbert, cellist Kareem Dayes en houtblazers Robert Stillman en Chelsea Carmichael. Ook Portisheads Adrian Utley leent zijn elektrisch gitaar uit aan twee tracks op de plaat.
