De Amerikaanse americana en indie rock band Band Of Horses is terug van weggeweest. Vijf jaar geleden brachten Ben Bridwell en co hun laatste wapenfeit uit met ‘Why are you ok’. Op die nogal retorische en nihilistische vraag lijkt nu een positief antwoord te komen met ‘Things are great’. De nieuwe plaat verschijnt op 21 januari volgend jaar via BMG.
In een statement vertelt de frontman; “I think like a lot of my songs, ‘Crutch’ starts with something from my real life.” Hij gaat verder; “Obviously ‘Crutch’ means some of the things that I was dependent on. My relationship for one. I think I wanted to say, ‘I’ve got a crush on you,’ and I thought it was funny how relationships also feel like crutches. I feel like everybody has had a time when nothing goes right and you still have to carry on.
